Earth Day

I spent my Earth Day supporting a friend who did a 5K run at StoneyField Farm in NH today.  Yes the people who make yogurt.  Over 1K ran.  It was an eventful day at StoneyField with vendors all in support of Earth Day.  I am  in wonder watching people preach about saving the planet.  makes me feel like I do nothing to make a difference.  There was one tent that caught my eye.  I didn't know the New England Cottontail Bunny is in danger, and the efforts that are being made to save them.
I have a couple at my house, I see them now and then eating clover and I LOVE them.  So that made me sad. It was a fun day all and all.  When I got home I finally finished my wool project I have been working on and hung it in my dining room.  Looks like it was made to be there.

Sheep are something else I have tucked here and there in my dining room
How could I pass up a sheep with a Quilt on his back.  Right?

I bought these sheep during my quilt retreat at the farm

Easter 2012

I don't know the time Christ rose on Easter morning but I'm pretty sure it was earlier than I get up, but maybe not as early as some of my friends and family get up. My phone lit up very early with texts of  Happy Easter wishes but I loved it.
I love when Easter falls on a day when all the blossoms are out on the trees and the daffodil's, hyacinth, periwinkle, azalea's and magnolias are out. Life is reborn.

This is the first year no Easter Baskets greeted us in the morning. Maybe because when Easter candy comes out, I buy and eat so much I don't want to see another piece of candy Easter morning. Also because my son is 21 now and is not a big candy eater.
But that doesn't mean we didn't see the Easter Bunny

Every year we have our favorite dessert, a Dairy Queen Cake.  oh boy oh boy oh boy.  Isn't that  enough sugar one for day?

I didn't quite finish my Easter punch needle, it needs a border,  but here it is.

Spring Ahead

This winter has been so mild spring feels like its just about here.  Birds are singing in the morning and the bulbs and buds are peeking out of the trees and ground. My sewing room is in a heat less attic so I haven't been quilting, So today I  started pulling out my spring decorations and decorating.  Working on an Easter punch needle and looking on the web for a wool covered eggs pattern.

Baskets and Bunny's a few of my favorite things

Saw this idea on Pintresthttp://www.pinterest.com/, a GREAT site for fun

Pixi Stix Pinwheels

Getting ready for a baby shower this week, Mavyn at work came up with the idea to do pixi stix pinwheels for center pieces and favors, what a great idea!  I used Scrap booking paper and cut 10 inch squares for the pinwheels, I put a white button in the middle, I love buttons:) My fellow employees were getting nervous they wouldn't get done. Oh YE of little faith.
