Quilt from Scraps

I made a quilt for my neices wedding and  had  enough fabric left over to made a lap quilt for myself. I did the best with what I had left over.  No pattern.  Fabric is French General by Moda.  I quilted it on my sewing machine, not an easy task, but I am getting better at it.

Getting ready for the Lowell Quilt Festival and the World Quilt Festival.  Havent been to a show in a while.  Remember this is the year I am using up  my stash and making quilts out of all the tops I have accumulated.  It might take another year.  But I must say im happy with my progress.  I don't have much self control when it comes to buying things I "must have".  The family is expecting a new baby early next year so I have an excuse to find the perfect fabrics for baby quilts.

Happy 4th of July 2012

Fireworks at our house, much to my dismay, boys will be boys.  I did'nt have much say.  I wish I saw as many fireworks when I was little as I do now.  I have been watching fireworks out my window as I sit and watch tv all week.  Tonight I enjoyed the fireworks with my family and also watched everyone elses in the neighborhood. The sounds around the area were amazing.  We also had a great lightening show in the distance which added to the expierence.

These are the patriotic quilts I have made mostly with material I have had in my stash.  I hate to put them away.

You know kitty wasn't anywhere to be found during the fire works, but I noticed this little guy sitting on the railing watching with us.

The Simple Things

When I came home from work today, no one was home and my kitty was on the back steps waiting to greet me.   I took a minute and sat to say hello to him.   I have a potted plant with petunia's in it and I noticed a bumble bee busy at work, his little bum was sticking out of a petunia and his head could'nt go any further into the flower.  I went to get my camera and then sat with the kitty and watched him.  When my son was little we use to go out at night with a flash light and look for bumble bees sleeping in the flowers.  I think this bumble bee either took a nap or was so stuffed he could'nt move, but either way he laid still in the petunia for quite a while.  Kitty and I had a nice chat and let him bee.

Fun, Busy Weekend

What a great weekend, Shopping at the new outlets on Friday,  painted the front of the house on Saturday.
As I was painting, A couple women walking by said they loved my garden and asked if they could go  take a look, I should have done some weeding, :)
Peach colored Foxglove

 Pink Clemitis
Lavender that smells heavenly

Coral color lilies

Little Angel in the flowers, I call her mom

Took a break in the afternoon to weave the cushion on this little chair.   I love how it came out, whats cuter than a little bear sitting in a chair?

Sunday I took my husband and son to the new outlets in Merrimack because the sales were phenominal. They bought clothes and shoes and agreed the sales were worth the trip!
A house is not home without a cat.  I agree:)  well at least for me :)
