Getting ready for a baby shower this week, Mavyn at work came up with the idea to do pixi stix pinwheels for center pieces and favors, what a great idea! I used Scrap booking paper and cut 10 inch squares for the pinwheels, I put a white button in the middle, I love buttons:) My fellow employees were getting nervous they wouldn't get done. Oh YE of little faith.

Barn Qults
I was looking on the Internet one day and found many driving tours of barn quilts across the country. If you click here Barn Quilt Tour or Another tour you will see what I'm talking about. If you google driving tours of barn quilts it will give you some interesting sights. They are all across our county and I think they are so cool. I loved the idea so much I joined in.
I have had a few different stars on my garden shed over the past years, This year I'm ready to paint another one. I buy paint samples at the paint store and its just enough to do what I need. This year I'm painting my house, Yes "I" am painting it. My husband and son are not for painting OR for ladders. I will be painting it the same color scheme as you see here. I actually painted the back of the house last fall. I figured it I painted the back first, I would enough drive to finish two sides and the front in the spring. So I'm thinking of spring tonight and wondering what new "Barn Quilt" I want for my garden shed this year. I also think I will make it more colorful. I have replaced the vent over the star, that pink piece was just temporary. Painting quilts is actually just as fun as sewing them. It's also code for "a quilter lives here". :)

New Year New Projects
I loved the quilts in this book, but when I got it home I noticed these quilts were made with Batiks. When Batiks first came out I thought they were the ugliest fabrics I had EVER seen. After seeing many many quilts at quilt shows made with them. I have warmed up to them. This will be my first Batik quilt. Will it be my last? I don't know I'm liken it so far :)
Just getting started
I have all my appliqued squares done
Kitty spent the day sleeping near the wood stove keeping warm

Spring in January
This came from friends in early December, what a great idea. Just add water and wait for spring to arrive. Now that Christmas is all put away and we have settled into winter, I have beautiful flowers to brighten things up on such short winter days.
