Happy New Year 2015

This year I'm getting caught up on quilts I have been wanting to make for my self for some time.  A quilter once told me you spend the first 10 years making quilt's for everyone else.  Well..  I have found that to be true.  So now its mine turn, this is the first one this year I have started.  Its a house block of the month.  I started it with 5 other people, we agreed to have the top done by our next retreat in November.  I am making a Christmas quilt.

I'd like to make some new Christmas quilts for the house this year, I will start with this one.

I made this quilt for a friend. It's the largest one I've made, not so easy to square up when its so large, luckily it quilted up fine, so it was square enough.

This was a Christmas gift to people who sail out of Rockport, MA  I didn't have a pattern and the angles were tricky, but It came out ok.

I accidently deleted my 2014 posts.  Ooops!

New Projects

I'm getting back into the swing of projects.  I made a rush quilt for someone to send to France for a special 90th birthday.   I made a quilt for my kitty. I went to the world quilt show and went on a 12 hr quilting jam Saturday.  I'm getting excited to pick up momentum.
This was the quilt that went to France.  just a lap, didn't have much time to make it any bigger.
I made this quilt for my kitty, I thought if he had his own, he wouldn't be laying on what I was trying to work on.
He likes it, but it doesn't work
How can I push this little guy on my cutting mat.

My latest wool project, getting ready for fall
Finally put the sashing on my quilt.  Now to get it quilted
This was fun fast and easy to put together, its never to soon to get ready for Christmas.

Handsome Little Man

Mr Fozzie is turning into quite the handsome young man.  We are having so much fun with him.  My house looks like a kitty daycare.  I have never had a cat who enjoys every toy he has, who loves to play hide and go seek and puts his two front paws up on my knees when he wants to be picked up. he makes us laugh with this clumsiness and he can be a little naughty, but his naughty is funny and somehow I don't mind him going places he shouldn't.   I know I should be talking quilting but he hasn't worn off on me yet.  Each day I can't wait to go home. Hes one lucky kitty.  The whole family is on board with this kitty.  Hes the apple of our eye.  I really don't think the new future king of England as anything on my little prince.

I was away at Disney with my sister recently and now that I am back home I'm trying to get back into the swing.  This weather is so hot, I realized I really do hate the summer even thought I am always in air conditioning.   I will take the rest of the four seasons. If I don't start quilting soon  I will have to change my blog to Mr Fozzies Big Adventures.  LOL.  but I haven't been that bad, I have gone on 12 hour quilting jams.  I love them I get so much done.  Another one coming up in August.

I made this one for the person we stayed with in Florida, it's bright and cheerful.  Its called Ruby by Moda.  She loved it!! I didn't get a picture of it finished. ugh!

Block of the month

How many projects do you have unfinished?   I started this one last year, which isn't bad I guess.  I do have much older ones.  This is a star block of the month. I am working on a basket block of the month now so I really should get this done.  I laid  it out on the floor and take a picture of it, it gives me a good idea what its going to look like before I add the sashing.
My little apprentice, kitty approved
The quilt pictured on the bottom of my quilt ladder is next on my list to get quilted.  Its time, this one is about 3 years unfinished.
I see birds, can I go outside?
