Spring in January

This came from friends in early December, what a great idea.  Just add water and wait for spring to arrive.  Now that Christmas is all put away and we have settled into winter, I have beautiful flowers to brighten things up on such short winter days.

Happy New Year 2012!

Went out for chinese food tonight at Lilac of course with friends.  All is quiet, fire is going, kitty is sleeping on a quilt dreaming of who knows what LOL..  Quilted most of the day.  Looking forward to a  year full of quilts and hopefully some weight loss.
Having some tasty chocolate bears I found in my stocking Christmas Day..

T'was The Night Before Christmas

It's a magical night, even more so than Christmas Day. My mother always said anticipation is better than realization and I think she was right.  Every year we put so much time and effort into shopping, cooking and buying the perfect gift,we put so much anticipation into Christmas Day.  We go out of our way into making the Christmas season a magical time for our children.  One tradition I started with my son was ringing sleigh bells outside my sons window after I put him to bed.  It's somthing he never forgets.  There is always a certain smell in the house christmas eve I love.  Maybe its the combination of fire, the tree or maybe its the  baked goods, or even the wrapping paper, but its a fragrance I love.  This year I recreated some of my favoirte things my mother made when I was growing up.  Just eating some of these things brings me back to yesterday and I enjoy every minute of memory lane.  Time seems to stand still on Christmas Eve, its all in the anticipation of Christmas day.

Christmas Comma Early

After a year long very costly restoration, I finally have my clock back. He did a great job and hopefully it will be handed down to future genterations. Merry Christmas to me!

The Quilt arrived safe and sound to the very happy newlyweds.
